This technology deals with the storage of wet biomass
Up to to-day, the storage of wet biomass or the juice fraction thereof can only be realized under anaerobic (airtight) conditions to prevent rot.
The problem under anaerobic conditions
Sugars are largely fermented into organic acids and ethanol at pH´s of 4,5 or less.
The protein complex is broken down into N-components.
Other associated effects of this ensiling process are fermentation losses of 15% or more and a solid biomass which has to be taken out daily with a tractor mounted with specific equipment.

The solution
is particularly adapted to a large-scale storage of the sugar beet crop (beet + protein rich leaves).
The biomass is mashed and stored anaerobically in a lagoon or circular container.
As a semi-fluid pumpable to live stock, a biogas plant or screw press for the extraction of juice.
